How they work

Canopy Up and Over Garage Doors

The canopy garage door opens using a mechanism that allows you to keep the full width of your garage. The door retracts in part into the garage with the bottom half of the door overhanging outside creating a ‘canopy’. The mechanism opens using two arms, one on each side of the door, which use tracks to smoothly open.

Retractable Up and Over Garage Doors

Retractable up and over garage doors open by almost the entire door being retracted into the garage but this means that it will need slightly more clearance when opening. Retractable garage doors are also much easier to automate that canopy doors as well as offering additional strength.
